A leading group of hotels in Zanzibar is looking for a suitable candidate to fill in the positions mentioned below

1. Group security manager
Reporting to general manager as a member of the management team will be in charge of security team and all security matters for the three hotels

JOB DESCRIPTION
General Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
1) Manage security department, address departmental needs and requirements, working tools and equipments.
2) Carry out staff training and enlighten them on what the work of a security guard entails.
3) Advise on how to enhance patrols and surveillance inside the hotels, along the beaches and outside the hotels along the perimeter walls.
4) Carry out recruitment; improve on the existing security policies, systems and procedures for better performance.
5) Enhance information gathering processes for pre-emptive action, Carry out inspection and investigations on security matters arising from incidences.
6) Cooperate and assist in establishing better patrol coverage, security lighting/CCTV systems are always working for better security coverage.
7) Ensure high standards of discipline in security department is maintained, and that appropriate disciplinary action is taken where and when necessary.
8) To ensure general security of the guest, employees and the company property through a disciplined, competent, efficient and effective security department.
9) Review the current security staff distribution as per working stations and task allocation to meet the company security needs.
10) To ensure attendance periodic employees performance evaluation, conduct unit and inter unit meetings on security matters.

JOB SPECIFICATION

Qualifications and experience:
• A Degree/Diploma from a recognized University or college, and a 5 years experience as Security Manager in a 4* or 5* hotel or a related establishment.
• Well experienced with knowledge on the Labour Laws of Zanzibar, strong leadership and organization skills, a team player and team leader.
• Pro-active, focused, creative and quality driven person, highly organized, result oriented, flexible and work well under pressure.
• Fluent in oral and written English and Kiswahili language with good communication skills good interpersonal skills and leadership skills to maintain a winning team.
• Computer knowledge, strong customer focus and able to carry out staff training self-driven and highly motivated individual with a good knowledge and understanding of hotel operations.
