Study Coordinator POSITION DESCRIPTION:

1. Project Area: MwananyamalaRegional Referral HospitalHospital (MRRH)

2. Position Title: Study Coordinator – 1 post.

3. Project Title: Infectious Disease Management in Maternal Child Health at Mwananyamala Regional Referral Hospital

4. Duration: 3 months (June – September,2016)
5. Location, Country: Kinondoni District, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

6. Expected Starting Date: June , 2016

7. Brief Project Description: Located in Kinondoni district, Mwananyamala hospital, the infectious disease management project has implemented since 2014. This project intends to improve hospital environment and provide training to medical staffs in order to enhance their capacity. The project also intends to give a hygiene kit to mother who give a birth in the hospital.

8. Host Agency/Host organization: Medipeace Tanzania

9. Organization Context: Medipeace is a medical humanitarian NGO registered to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea as an incorporated association. Medipeace has been implementing health care projects and activities in Tanzania, where it has been registered under the NGO Act of 2002 since December 2013, and other developing countries, such as Russia, China, Papua New Guinea, and Vietnam.

10. Description of Tasks:
Under the direct supervision of Medipeace Tanzania team, the Study Coordinator will undertake the following tasks:

-Research coordination
– Assist implementing overall study
– Data collection, coding and data entry
– Delivering the specimen samples to the laboratory
– Other job required by the organization

11. Qualifications/Requirements:
– Medical doctor (MD’s) or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
– Background of research is an advantage
– Good knowledge of infectious diseases
– Good team player
– Good people skills
– Good computer skills (MS word, Excel)
– Fluent in English(written and spoken)
– Spoken and written Swahili would be an asset
– Able to proactively identify solution to overcome problems

12. Salary:
Minimum 500USD’s per month. But salary can be modified by candidates experience and career.
